D.I.Y. Wooden Magazine Rack – D.I.Y. At Bunnings

Isn’t it annoying to always find those magazines
lying around on the ground, in the kitchen, in your bedroom, in the kids room. Why not make a wooden magazine holder to store
them all away. Here is some tools I need to make my wooden
magazine holder. I needed some wood, some threaded steel rod
and I’m ready to go, let’s get it started. I’m going to cut my timber to size. You can use whatever size you like, small,
medium or large. I’m going to do a nice 45-degree cut so we
get a nice clean corner. This is what it looks like after my two mitered
cut. I’m going to do the same for the next three
sides. Now it’s time for me to drill some holes in
my side so I can thread the rod through and hang my magazines off them. I’m going to do my first hole high enough
so the magazines do not touch the bottom of the frame to mark out where the holes are
going to be so they are equally spaced. I’ve just drilled the four holes and I’m going
to do the same on the other side. Now I can create my first corner. I’m going to measure out where I’m going to
pre-drill my corner fixing holes. I’m going to countersink my holes so I can
hide the screws later. I want to put my frames together by using
the countersunk holes on either side, add a bit of glue for a bit more support. I’m going to add my rod through to hang my
magazines through the right through, add on a washer, your nut, screw it on nicely, pull
it right through, make sure it’s flush on one end. Now it’s time to do the other side, add the
washer, the screw right to the end and make it flush. Let’s make sure it’s nice and tight with my
socket and wrench, so I’m ready to cut with my hacksaw. Now that I’ve cut my rod, we need to go. I’m going to do the same for the next three,
putty up the holes, wait for it to dry, sand it off, give it a nice varnish, time to add
the rods. Wow, remember when my magazines lying on the
ground? Look at it now, nice and clean. Put your magazines on when you want to have
a read, lift it up, there we go.
