Campbell Lakes Preserve – Great Parks of Hamilton County

(light music) – [Narrator] The first time
I came to Campbell Lakes was when Great Parks
acquired this property. My first impression was,
this is a gravel mine. How will we ever bring
nature back to that? We’ve restored the grasslands,
we opened the lakes up for fishing, and
nature came by itself. To see the sun come up in
the morning from the east, casting shadows across the lake, it’s just a magical place to be. On a day or a weekend, we might have 30,
40, or 50 fishermen, but it’s so large
you feel like you’re in nature by yourself. Campbell Lakes is
a special place because it’s along
the Whitewater River, it’s a magnet for wildlife. It’s quiet, it’s serenity. To be outside reinforces
why we’re here, to provide outdoor experiences
for our county residents and all the guests
in the region. Campbell Lakes is one
of the best kept secrets in Hamilton County.
